Sci-FI NES Games from a Parallel Dimension
We were unfortunate enough to live through such horrible movie-licensed games like Robocop, Total Recall, and E.T., but perhaps somewhere in an alternate timeline where good things happened and people knew how to make good movie-based vidya gaemz, we could have had such instant classics like “They Live!” (with real 3D glasses action? Give me that) and MST3K (do you play the movie they’re watching, or just Press A to quip?)
“Evil Robot Stole My Girlfriend” sounds like it would be a fantastic retro game, cheesy b-movie, or retro game about a cheesy b-movie.
Ones on the right looking so terrified.. Ones on the left not doing too good (I’ve never seen eyeballs blur before)
I just want to take a moment to enjoy some of the design choices for the enemies in LaTale.
Wreck-It Ralph
The story of a 9-foot tall, 643-pound video game villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) who spends his days destroying buildings in a “Rampage” style game. His nemesis is the games’ titular hero, “Fix-It Felix” (Jack McBrayer), who cleans up Ralph’s destruction and gets the glory. Frustrated by decades of playing the villain, Ralph ventures out into the arcade’s other games to show that he can be a hero too.
Out in theaters this November!

Awesome Indies: Fez
Today is the day! One of the most anticipated games of the last few years has finally arrived. Fez is a 2D/3D perspective shifting platform game developed by independent software developers Polytron. Announced in 2007, the game was originally scheduled for release in 2010… wait… who cares? It is finally out! Today is the day! FEZ is here! All past sins are forgiven.
